51st Police Raising Day
The Royal Bhutan Police celebrated its 51st Police Raising Day on 1st September 2016 at RBP headquarters, Thimphu. This day marks a special occasion for the police fraternity as the Royal Bhutan Police completes 51 years of service to the nation.

The Police Raising Day is observed every year to commemorate the continued allegiance and unwavering dedication of the Royal Bhutan Police to the Tsa-Wa-Sum. On this day, the RBP fraternity offered prayers of gratitude to the Supreme Commander in Chief, His Majesty the King.

The occasion was graced by the Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army, Lt General Batoo Tshering, DYG, DW, DT, DK, DRT as the Chief Guest at the RBP, headquarters.

To commemorate the occasion, the RBP presented trophy and cash awards to the winners of the Crime Reduction Competition in recognition of the relentless efforts to reduce crime and keep the communities safe. The first prize of Nu 50,000.00/- was awarded to Division VII Trongsa, Division XI Wangduephodrang taking away second prize of Nu 30,000.00/- and Division IV Samtse a third prize of Nu 20,000.00/-.

The following Police Raising Day pledges were made to rededicate its commitment to serve and protect the communities.
1. Enhance public friendly policing
2. Improve police response time
3. Enhance crime prevention and detection
4. Intensify operations to curtail drug demand and supply
5. Strengthen road safety and traffic law enforcement
6. Corruption free police organization.
