Opening of North and South Thimphu Police Station
On 02 June 2022 corresponding to Third day of Fourth Month of the Water Male Tiger year, the Royal Bhutan Police formally inaugurated two additional Police stations at Jungshina (North Thimphu) and Babesa (South Thimphu). Both the Police Stations will be functioning under Division XI, Police by Thimphu.

New Police Stations (North and South) will have all the facilities including detention and headed by Officer Commanding with approximate strength of 35-50 personnel. The respective Police Stations will attend and deal the cases reported from their delineated jurisdiction. North Thimphu Police Station has the jurisdiction from Chubachu stream towards north covering Kawajangsa-Jungshina and Taba - Dechencholing Demkhong under Thimphu Thromde and Kawang, Naro, Soe and Lingzhi gewogs under Thimphu Dzongkhag.

The jurisdiction of South Thimphu Police extends from Changjiji Bridge covering part of Changzamtok - Olakha and Babesa - Simtokha Demkhong under Thimphu Thromde and Chang, Dakarla, Maedwang and Geyney gewogs under Thimphu Dzongkhag. While the Central Thimphu Police Station shall have the jurisdiction over Motithang, Changangkha, Norzin, Lungtenzampa - Yangchenphu Demkhong and part of Changzamtok - Olakha Demkhong.
