55th Police Raising Day
2020 has been a challenging and unprecedented year. From security preparedness planning to mounting effective response since the detection of the first COVID-19 positive case in the country on 05th March, our police personnel are in the frontline guarding point of entries in the South, securing quarantine facilities, ensuring safe passage of essential supplies, imposing timely closure of businesses, discouraging gatherings and crowd, combating rampant smuggling of illicit drugs, contending breach of public order and; enforcing nationwide lockdown among others, With His Majesty The King providing extraordinary leadership, our personnel particularly those in the South, have shown resilience and continued to serve tirelessly to keep our people safe from this pandemic. Going by the recent developments and the much-dreaded news of community transmission in Phuentsholing, it will be awhile before we call it a past and hang our caps to take on our normal roles.
In the midst of our fight against COVID-19, as we observe 55th Police Raising Day on 01st September, minus the celebrations and fanfare, we are reminded more than ever of the crucial work our frontline workers including our personnel do every day to keep our communities safe and to keep our people out of harm's way. To each one of you, we extend our sincere appreciation.
In the same spirit, we must continue to display resolve and astuteness in discharge. ing our duties and not let our guards down. We must continue to firmly and reso lutely serve those who need support right now. We must step up now and not fal ter. And when all this is over, we shall look back with pride and fulfillment that we were worthy of the faith and trust reposed in us by Our Supreme Commander.
