2020 has been a challenging and unprecedented year. From security preparedness planning to mounting effective response since the detection of the first COVID-19 positive case in the country on 05th March, our police personnel are in the frontline guarding point of entries in the South, securing quarantine facilities, ensuring safe passage of essential supplies, imposing timely closure of businesses, discouraging gatherings and crowd, combating rampant smuggling of illicit drugs, contending breach of public order and; enforcing nationwide lockdown among others, With His Majesty The King providing extraordinary leadership, our personnel particularly those in the South, have shown resilience and continued to serve tirelessly to keep our people safe from this pandemic. Going by the recent developments and the much-dreaded news of community transmission in Phuentsholing, it will be awhile before we call it a past and hang our caps to take on our normal roles.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR OFFICER COMMANDING (OCs) 2020
The three day Annual Conference for Officer Commanding (OCs) is underway at Royal Bhutan Police Training Institute, Jigmeling. The conference will discuss professional police service delivery, emerging crime trends, evolving threats and challenges faced by the society, and the need to constantly upgrade the standard of policing to respond to and address these challenges.

Turntable Ladder Truck Donated to Fire and Rescue Services Division of the Royal Bhutan Police
In a handing over ceremony held on 14 December 2019 at RBP HQ, the Chief of Police received a modern high tech turntable ladder fire truck from Dr. Wolfgang Pfeiffer, the Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Southern Germany. The truck was donated by the Mayor of the Bietigheim-Bissingen and the City Fire Brigade through a project initiated by Dr.Wolfgang Pfeiffer, who is founder of Bhutan Aid Association, in consultation with the Embassy of Bhutan in Brussels.
