Security Division
|

In the early eighties, the Security Division has started as a small unit in the Royal Bhutan Police to cater the security needs of the VIPs. However, with rapid developmental activities and changing political scenario in the country, this unit has been upgraded to Security Division on 1st February 2003. The Security Division provides security to national VVIPs, Visiting Foreign Dignitaries and also guards Vital Installations and Foreign Embassies.
In addition to the residential security of the VIPs, the Security Division is also responsible for providing pilot and escort duties for VIPs on tour within the country.

The Division is sub-divided into three units:

1. VIP Unit.
2. Vital Installation Unit.
3. Anti-sabotage Unit.
