Royal Bhutan Police participated in Third United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit
Bhutan participated in the Third United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS 2022) in New York from August 31 to September 2. The Chief of Police, Maj General Chimi Dorji led the delegation to the Summit.

The UNCOPS 2022 brought together ministers and heads of police from 115+ Member States to discuss the critical role of United Nations Police - UNPOL in enhancing global security, advancing ‘Action for Peacekeeping’, fostering sustainable development and bridging performance gaps. The event also featured the UN Woman Police Officer of the Year Award.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the Chief of Police and the delegation held separate bilateral meetings with Under Secretary General Jean Pierre Lacroix, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Under Secretary General Atul Khare, Department of Operational Support and United Nations Police Adviser Luis Carilhho to discuss Bhutan’s engagement and commitment to peacekeeping, A4P and A4P+ priorities.
