HIS MAJESTY THE KING AWARDS INDIVIDUALS WITH NATIONAL ORDER OF MERIT:
During the historic 109th national day celebrations this year in Trongsa, His Majesty the King recognized Chuma Tshering Wangchuk Drukpa, 28, a firefighter with the Royal Bhutan Police for his commitment & bravery in the line of duty.


Today, Chuma Tshering Wangchuk Drukpa is a proud recipient of the National Order of Merit (Gold) from His Majesty the King.

Chuma Tshering Wangchuk Drukpa sustained head injuries while trying to contain a forest fire above YHS in Thimphu in 2012. He also sustained injuries on October 16, 2016 while containing yet another fire in Mongar town. He suffered from broken ribs when he fell from a three storey traditional house.

Chuma Tshering Wangchuk Drukpa is currently serving under RBP, Division X - Mongar.

The RBP family would like to take this opportunity to sincerely congratulate Chuma Tshering Wangchuk Drukpa for receiving such a high honour & recognition and making the department proud.

Such honour & achievement not only recognized him, but has further inspired & motivated all of us in the RBP. We would like to once again congratulate him & hope he will continue to serve the community with the same zeal & enthusiasm in the future inspiring the rest to work with the same dedication & commitment.
