RBP participates in the 1st Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition at Paro.

The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) represented by the Thrimsung Women’s Group (TWG) participated in the first Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition which was held between 1- 6 April 2015 at Ugyen Pelri Palace in Paro.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, initiated upon the Royal Command of His Majesty the King to commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth King, was inaugurated by Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, Ashi Kesang Choeden Wangchuck on the 01 April 2015. It was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest under the Patronage of Her Majesty the Gyalyum Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck.

The RBP and TWG created a garden named “Druk Bae-Yul” (Blessed Paradise) as a tribute to the legacy of His Majesty the Fourth King’s 34 years of glorious reign. The other two members of the Armed Forces and five private florists also participated in the exhibition. The exhibition displayed creative installations incorporating flowers, as well as models of some of the most historic Bhutanese structures depicting rich culture, tradition and customs and about 50,000 visitors came to witness the event. The Prime Minister, ministers and senior government officials also attended the exhibition.

The exhibition was held with the vision to inspire appreciation for beautiful spaces, foster community vitality, and encourage the growth of a vibrant entrepreneurship in floriculture across the Nation. In a special message granted for the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, His Majesty the King Commanded: “Where we live must be clean, safe, organized, and beautiful, for national integrity, national pride, and for our bright future. This too is Nation Building.”

Her Majesty the Gyalyum Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck officially closed the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition on 06 April 2015. The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition will be an annual event which will be held coinciding with the festival of Paro Tshechu.
