The three convicted prisoners who had absconded from Police lockup from Wangduephodrang Police Station on 7th January 2015 evening were re-arrested in the early morning of 12th January 2015 from Bey Langdra, Wangduephodrang on an information provided by a member of general public.
The Royal Bhutan Police would like to thank the general public for their support and co-operation leading to the re-arrest of the absconders. As promised, a sum of Nu. 30,000/- shall be given as reward to the concerned informer.
With the re-arrest of the absconders, the Royal Bhutan Police headquarters shall conduct through inquiry into the circumstance leading to escape and initiate appropriate action against the personnel as per the outcome. Further, steps to prevent such incidences in future shall be implemented.
