On 18 September 2014, a total of 14 officers of Royal Bhutan Police were promoted to their next higher ranks upon the gracious approval of His Majesty, the King. The 14 officers comprised on 01 Thrimdag Wogma (Lt Colonel), 11 Dungda (Major) and 02 Yongzin (Captain) serving in various capacities in the Field Divisions and the Police Headquarters.
The promotion of the officers have been processed by the HR Committee and submitted to the RBP Service Board as provisioned under section 180 of the Police Act, 2009 and section 186 of the Police Service Rules and Regulations 2012. The RBP Service Board after the review during the 2nd meeting held on 18 August 2014 has recommended the promotion of the above officers effective from 01 July 2014.
The Chief of Police, Thrimdag Chichhab Kipchu Namgyel awarded the ranks to the officers on 18 September 2014. On congratulating each one of them, the Chief of Police briefed them that the promotion to the next higher rank signals added responsibilities as public servants and they all must continue to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum with unwavering loyalty and dedication.
