10th Phase of Police Youth Partnership Program ends
The nationwide 10th Phase of Police Youth Partnership Program that started on 1st July 2014 ended on 15th July 2014 in all Dzongkhags.
A total of 706 school going youths participated in the summer program this year.
Gasa and Dagana Dzongkhag had 15 participants each while Bumthang, Trongsa , Pema Gatshel, Trashigang and Mongar had 30 participants each. Tsirang and Zhemgang 28 participants each, Lhuentse 35, Samtse 31, Chukha, S / Jongkhar and Wangdue 50 participants each, Thimphu 52 participants, Paro 56, Punakha 43, Sarpang 49, T/Yangtse 32 and Haa 22 participants.
Police Youth Partnership Program – is an ongoing biannual program carried out by the Royal Bhutan Police during school summer and winter breaks with support from Save the Children Program and UNICEF. The program started around December 2008 under the auspices of Chief of Police to reduce youth crimes and delinquencies in the country and expects to constantly improve the youth and police relationship into shaping the children into responsible and respectable law abiding citizens.
On completion of the 10th Phase of Police Youth Partnership Program, RBP registered 5125 school going youths as PYPP members. The increasing number of youth participation in such programs is a clear indication of success of the program and a great achievement for the Royal Bhutan Police.
