The Royal Bhutan Police, Thimphu Division organized Familiarization Course for the second phase of Friends of Police (FOP) at the RBP Mess in Thimphu on 9th July 2014.
A total of 75 registered members participated in the day long program that included presentations on concept of FOP, their roles and responsibilities, presentation on Crime scenario of Thimphu, awareness on Domestic Violence, Drugs & Vices, Crime Prevention and Community Policing, Traffic safety, Fire prevention and practical demonstrations.
The Friends of Police is a special program of the Royal Bhutan Police directed towards the adult citizens in developing a long-term partnership between the public and the police for maintaining a safe, cooperative and secure society with the expectation that the members will assist and contribute in reaching out police services to the community during important national events and other adhoc activities by the Royal Bhutan Police in prevention, preservation and promotion of peace and security of the country.
