Honoring the Order of “Druk Wangyel” at RBP HQ
On 20 December 2011, the family members of the Royal Bhutan Police joined the officers and other ranks to celebrate the joyous occasion of receiving the Order of Druk Wangyel from His Majesty, the Druk Gyalpo on 17 December 2011. The Additional Chief of Police, Colonel Tshewang Dhendup, officers and other ranks offered ceremonial scarves to the Order of Druk Wangyal at the RBP HQ in a ceremony.

“Order of Druk Wangyel”
On the occasion of the celebration of the 104th National day of Bhutan, His Majesty, the Druk Gyalpo, in appreciation of the dedication, commitments and hard work performed by the members of the armed forces honored the three Services by conferring the Order of Druk Wangyel. The Chief Operations Officer of RBA, Commandant of RBG and Additional Chief of Police received the honor on behalf of the three Services.

Launching of POSYPP
On 21 November 2011, the Home Minister Lyonpo Minjure Dorji launched the first pilot program on Police and Out of School Youth Partnership (POSYPP) at the RBP HQ Thimphu. Twenty youths took part in the program. In his speech, Lyonpo Minjure Dorji informed the youths that the Ministry and the RBP will explore areas for the youths to get gainful employment. He said that the youths will be given the opportunity to prove themselves worthwhile to be given a chance to continue their education and look for employment elsewhere. Lyonpo also informed the gathering that similar programs will also be launched at Paro and Phuenthsoling at a later date.
