Information & Communication Technology Division.
The Information and Communication Technology Division was established in July 2005. The roles and functions of the Information and Communication Technology Division are as under:
  • The ICT Division looks after the whole network of the Royal Bhutan Police in the kingdom.
  • Ensures that entire network of the Department functions smoothly by connecting the Headquarters with other divisions through VPN, VHF sets and HF sets.
  • Troubleshoots the day to day problems faced by the organisation in terms of hardware as well as software and also in the field of networking.
  • Cater the Existing system like Personal Information System (PIS), up comming Security Clearance System, maintain and manage Crime & Criminal Information System(CCIS) and Arms Licensing System.
  • Strengthen and imporve Information Technology and Communication in the organisation.
  • Draw up ICT development plans and provide technical support for implementation of system and software applicatio in the organisation
  • Maintain and repair communication equipment
  • Liaise with relevant agencies for police wireless frequencies/bands
