The Information and Communication Technology Division was established in July 2005. The roles and functions of the Information and Communication
Technology Division are as under:

The ICT Division looks after the whole network of the Royal Bhutan Police in the kingdom.

Ensures that entire network of the Department functions smoothly by connecting the Headquarters with other divisions through VPN, VHF sets and HF sets.

Troubleshoots the day to day problems faced by the organisation in terms of hardware as well as software and also in the field of networking.

Cater the Existing system like Personal Information System (PIS), up comming Security Clearance System, maintain and manage Crime & Criminal Information System(CCIS) and Arms Licensing System.
- Strengthen and imporve Information Technology and Communication in the organisation.
- Draw up ICT development plans and provide technical support for implementation of system and software applicatio in the organisation
- Maintain and repair communication equipment
- Liaise with relevant agencies for police wireless frequencies/bands
