1. National Central Bureau- INTERPOL.

Bhutan's membership as the 183rd member country in Interpol was ratified on 19 September 2005 during the 74th General Assembly held in Berlin, Germany. After accepting Bhutan as its 183rd member country, the Interpol General Secretariat provided NCB, Thimphu with equipments for installing the I-24/7 Global Police Communication System for communicating with the Interpol General Secretariat as well as with all the National Central Bureaus of Interpol member countries.

The National Central Bureau-Interpol Thimphu had been abbreviated as NCB-Interpol Thimphu and is a part of the Investigation Bureau of Royal Bhutan Police. The NCB is mandated to maintain cooperation/coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization-Interpol (ICPO) will also support all efforts of ICPO-Interpol in combating Regional/ Transnational/International crimes.

Daily activities

Monitor and respond to the request from other NCBs/Sub- Regional Bureaus/Interpol General Secretariat. NCB Thimphu will extend its services to related agencies for better cooperation and effective functioning.

The units are responsible for: a. Conducting investigation of cases directed by higher authorities. b. Collecting intelligence for national security |
